Loras senior, Nickolas Helten (Garwin, IA) has been named the Dick Petrik Outstanding Student by the Iowa Broadcast News Association.
The IBNA Dick Petrik Outstanding Student Award is given annually to a college student whose work shows outstanding potential for a career in electronic media journalism.
The award is named for the late Dick Petrik, longtime news director at KOEL Radio in Oelwein. This honor carries with it a monetary award of $500.00.
Helten is the fifth duhawk to receive this prestigious award.
