The Loras College Duhawks took on the Wartburg Knights Saturday afternoon. The Duhawks kept it close, but the Knights would take the victory by a final score of 23-14.

The Loras College Duhawks honored their seniors and took on Washington University on Sunday afternoon in the Rock Bowl for the final home regular season game. The teams would end in a 0-0 tie in double overtime.

They call me Felicia Carner, which coincidently is my name. I spent most of my life growing up in Maquoketa, IA, located just south of Dubuque. The choice that lead me to Loras College rooted from their Media Studies program which naturally became my major. In addition to my major, I’ve picked up a Sociology minor. This is my third year at college and within this time I’ve reported, shot and been on crew for LCTV News, SportsZONE, and Live Sports. For two years now I’ve worked as the executive producer for LCTV News. During Janurary 2010, I worked as an intern with KWWL’s Dubuque bureau and then just this past summer I took on two different internships in the Quad Cities. One internship held with the Quad Cities River Bandits as a production intern and the other at WQAD 8 as a news intern. No plans have been settled for this upcoming summer but I have accepted an internship with KCRG-TV9 for the Fall of 2011. When I’m  not behind a camera or editing at a computer, I’m holding an instrument in the Loras College Wind and Jazz Ensembles. The one goal I strive towards in my career and life is to continue learning and improving my and my team’s abilities to perform.

Hello, my name is Jim Naprstek. I’m from Joliet, Illinois, and am a Media Studies major. As a sophomore, I serve as the Director of MyDuhawk.com and the Multimedia Editor for The Lorian. In addition to this, I also am the Live Shot Anchor for SportsZone and the Photo Editor for the newspaper. Right now, I have an internship with the Dubuque Fighting Saints as their Team Photographer. In February, I will begin an internship with KWWL-Dubuque working as a reporter and photographer. On campus, I work closely with the Dance Marathon Administration in maintaining their website and other items that I specialize in. After I graduate from Loras, I would ideally like to be involved in news as either a Mobile Journalist or Photographer.

Michael Lawrence is a senior majoring in Media Studies from Monticello, IA. His love for sports first started when he was younger cheering for his beloved Iowa State Cyclones. He has been involved in LCTV since he began producing SportsZONE his sophomore year, and anchoring for LCTV News’ Sports Shorts last year. Michael is currently taking a break from LCTV to intern in the sports department at WBBM-TV in downtown Chicago during the fall semester. He has also worked at KCRG TV-9 and KGAN Channel 2 both located in eastern Iowa. Michael plans to graduate this upcoming May.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Turner, and I am from Gurnee, IL. I am currently a first-year student at Loras, and I plan on majoring in Music Performance and Media Studies. Currently I am a reporter for LCTV news, and I work the cameras during the shows. A few of my other activities at Loras include; playing percussion in Wind Ensemble, singing in Bella Voce, as well as being a member in L.I.S.A. Music and learning about diverse cultures is very important to me and I always love opportunities to travel. For the future I plan on joining the Navy to play in the band or to be a journalist. I also aspire to start a puppet television show with my brother.
